Robert Griffin III may have a tattoo of his new flame, but he’s just now divorcing his former one.

RG3 has been dating Florida State track star Grete Sadeiko for several months, but he’s still technically married to his ex-wife, high school sweetheart Rebecca Liddicoat.

Not for long, apparently.

After reports surfaced that Griffin was splitting from Liddicoat, he officially filed for divorce in Texas on Sept. 7, according to TMZ Sports.

Griffin has also been trying to resurrect his career on the gridiron as the quarterback of the Browns, but he suffered a shoulder injury in his season debut. The Browns went on to lose, 29-10, to the Eagles in Week 1. The quarterback’s future remains up in the air.

The 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year was 12-for-26 (46.2 percent) for 190 yards with an interception in the loss prior to his injury.

Griffin, 26, had reportedly started seeing Sadeiko behind his soon-to-be ex-wife’s back. Though they grew apart amid the controversy, Liddicoat was reportedly “blindsided” by the divorce as Griffin looks to continue his relationship with Sadeiko.

The quarterback met Liddicoat in 2009 and they got engaged in 2010 before tying the knot in July 2013. They have a daughter together.

The couple was married for three years, but they lived separately after the quarterback’s soon-to-be ex-wife discovered he was seeing Sadeiko during their time together.

Now, they’re another step closer to divorce as Griffin certainly appears to be quite taken by his new girlfriend.
