The present and future of women’s wrestling will be on full display this Sunday night.
Charlotte is set to defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks and Bayley in a Triple Threat match at “Clash of the Champions” live from the Banker’s Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
All three of these ladies are vital to the “RAW” brand, but only one can carry the torch as champion.
Here are our rankings of the three and how worthy they are to win the match from last to first.
This isn’t an anti-Bayley sentiment, in fact, she’s one of the best Superstars on the roster. It’s just too early in her WWE career to crown her. One of the best parts of her character in NXT was Bayley’s ability to overcome obstacles and adversity. She experienced setback after setback in pursuit of the NXT Women’s Championship, which allowed people to rally around her and made her eventual winning of that title epic. There’s no reason the WWE can’t replicate that recipe for success on the main roster.
The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is one of the most athletically-gifted stars in the promotion. She’s also grown very comfortable into her heel role. Still, between both of her title reigns, Charlotte has had enough time on top in the division, so her retaining the belt isn’t the best call.
1) Sasha Banks
The WWE never should have taken the belt off “The Boss” to begin with at “SummerSlam.” Sure, her injury was mysterious and could have been worse, but as it turns out, she didn’t miss a single major event. Banks remains very over with the crowd and one of the best wrestlers on the red brand. The company should restore her heat by having her win the title here and hold it for a potential “WrestleMania” clash with Bayley.
